LEED Exam Study Groups


To stay competitive in today’s market, becoming a LEED accredited professional is essential. Join an ALA LEED Exam Study Group to help you prepare for the USGBC LEED-NC (New Construction) exam. These interactive sessions, led by experienced LEED AP professionals, will guide you through the requirements for the LEED exam and promote discussion on the latest developments in sustainability.

This seven (7) week study group will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30. The LEED-NC v2.2 Reference Guide, Third Edition will be the textbook used throughout the sessions and is included with your registration fee (a $200 value).

There will be an introductory session on Tuesday, September 9th from 5:30 – 6:00 to pick up reading materials and review the syllabus. Dinner will be provided by session sponsors.

Session 1: Sustainable Sites 
Selection and development strategies for project sites to minimize negative impacts of the facility and infrastructure on the local ecosystem, land and habitat

Session 2: Water Efficiency
Methods of reducing potable water usage for landscaping, sewage conveyance and overall building plumbing systems

Session 3: Energy & Atmosphere
Improving overall building energy performance through measurement, verification, efficient and innovative design and use of renewable energy sources

Session 4: Materials and Resources
Reducing use of natural resources through careful selection of materials, reuse of existing materials and responsible waste management

 Session 5: Indoor Environmental Quality Improving the overall indoor air quality of buildings to increase occupant well-being and health

 Session 6: Innovation in Design, Exemplary Points
Encouraging the development of new, innovative sustainable design and construction strategies

 Session 7: LEED Implementation, Introduction to LEED Online
Overview of the administration/documentation process and LEED Online project website

All seven (7) sessions qualify for 10.5 LU HSW of State Required Learning Units and may qualify for other LU requirements.
